Above Average Achievement Celebrated

11/11/2016
Above average achievement celebrated!

Millchester State School staff have been focussing intently on the teaching of English this year across the whole school.  Teachers have been making the learning visible by putting all learning and student samples of the learning onto the classroom wall.  This is referred to as 'learning walls'.  Students can very clearly see what they need to do to achieve a 'C' or higher standard by looking at the learning wall and students are able to use this wall as another tool to improve their work.  Students are clearly able to tell adults what they are learning and what they need to be able to do to achieve a 'C' or higher standard.

Every five weeks classroom teachers will meet with the Principal, Head of Curriculum, Guidance Officer and Students with Disabilities Teacher to discuss students' work and develop an action plan to support their next step in learning.

These two strategies have proven very effective as 93% of students across the school from Prep to Year 6 have achieved a 'C' or higher in English.

Congratulations to all students and staff for the amazing efforts and results that are being achieved.
